Cold Nights and Camping

Alright so, I've written about a million posts in the past week, but you'll get over it cause I figure you'll appreciate what I did last night.  So this past weekend was ANZAC day which is like their version of memorial/veterans/labor day kinda thing...its basically a reason for everyone to drink...so obviously I had an awesome night and therefore a rough morning on sunday, but thats not what this post is about...im just letting you know that I basically got like 5 hours of sleep over friday and saturday...which brings me to sunday.

So obviously I want to do absolutely nothing on Sunday cause I'm exhausted and a bit hungover...so thats pretty much what I do for most of the day, absolutely nothing.  Well, Stacy was gone for the weekend to visit a friend in Wollongong and she got back late arvo on Sunday and long story short, she and I decide to make up for the loss of a weekend together by camping on Newcastle beach for the night...totally spontaneous.  Well, we tried recruiting all of our good friends, but pretty much everyone either couldn't or didn't want to so it was just me and Stac down for doing some 'illegal' camping on good ole Newcastle Beach ( I say 'illegal' cause technically you're not allowed to sleep on the beach, you're only allowed to at a beach called Stockton, but thats way further out of the way)...we figured no one would even know we were there and if the security did come by then theyd just make us leave and we'd just stay the night at our guys' place which is literally right across from the beach.

Well everyone was telling us the entire time that there was no way we were going to do it, that we would back out, blah blah blah...well those that know me well enough know that saying that will just piss me off and make me want to do it even more just to prove a point...so thats pretty much what happened. Stac and I posted up at Newcastle Beach round 830 pm...brought a couple blankets, some water, tim tams, and some goon (that was for Stac cause she didnt have a drunken weekend like I did, I was still recovering). It was a perfectly clear sky, just a little cooler than we thought (cause btw, its winter here now), but otherwise perfect.  We just chatted and rocked out to disney music for a couple hours...then, of course, the boys that live across the street (Pat, David and Chase...Pat and David came on break with us) cam down to the beach for a bit and threw the football around and kept us company...but then they went back up and Stac, me and David just hungout for awhile...then our other buddies, Charlie and Drew, showed up to say HEY! They were pretty much like wtf...why are you sleeping on the beach? Our response: why not? Oh and throughout the night, our fav aussie boys, Sam and Thor, kept calling us to 'check in' and make sure we were ok...well atleast thats what we thought.

Well like around midnight we look over at our stuff and there are these 2 random-ass dudes staring down at our shit, so stac and I run over to be like wtf, why are you near our stuff? go away.  Hahaha, turns out it was Sam and Thor and apparently they had been at the beach for like a half hour trying to scare us and get out attention, but Stac and I are effing oblivious...so funny! They were pretty bummed though...oh well.  So we just chilled with them and Charlie (everyone else had left by then and everytime someone left they tried to convince us to stay with them, everyone was worried about us being alone and cold and shit, good friends here) til like 2 am, freezing by this point. Well Sam and Thor being the best kids ever, I'm not kidding I consider them my brothers, they surprised us with cookies, water and extra blankets!! How nice is that?? They drove all the way from Uni just to take care of us (and scare us haha), love them! And thank god they did cause we definitely needed those extra blankets!

It ended being a low of like 60 or something, but we were on the beach too so obvi it was windy as eff too...our bad, didnt really plan too well.  Whatever, Stac and I were bound and determined...so we made up our bed on the sand as the boys left us for the night and went to bed...haha within like 5 seconds of the guys leaving we saw like 2 sketchy people and we were what the HELL are we doing hahaha, but oh well...if we die, we die in Australia so thats cool. So we're curled up in balls staring at the stars and trying to sleep and literally like every 30 or so minutes for the rest of the night one of us would turn to the other and be like "are you cold?? I'm freezing..."and the other would be like "Yeah, I'm cold..." and that would be it haha, back to trying to sleep.

We finally just woke up for good round 430 am to watch the sunrise...and, as always, it was AMAZING! We were definitely frozen by this point, but it didnt matter...the start of a gorgeous day...there were already people jogging by us (looking at us like we were crazies or hobos) and some boarders and kayakers in the water, so we were watching them and the sun and to top it all off...there were dolphins! It never gets old...basically, it was worth being ice cubes the whole night and it makes for ridiculous memories and stories! When we got back to campus round 730 am, looking HOT of course, tried to defrost in our rooms...we got messages throughout the day from everone being like "I thought for sure I'd wake up and you 2 would be sleeping in our apartment" or "how was it? are you alive?" or "did you sleep at all?" etc...the last one was def Charlie who was that night before he left was like, "yeah, theres no way you're sleeping tonight Adriana...you're not even drinking...you're gonna be too cold." Hahaha turns out he was 100% correct and I told him so, but whatever, it ended up being one of the most random, spontaneous nights ever and I loved it! Thank god for Stacy...someone else here who is as crazy and weird as I am...love her!

Okay thats my randomness for the week...love and miss everyone and just wanted to let you know that I didn't die...wooooooo!

More of Fraser Island...

The amazing Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island...prettiest water and sand ever, I thought it was better than Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays.

Our 4wd...effing disgusting and smelly, just look at it.
Our views for the 3 days of camping...no one around except for other campers and dingos.
The Champagne pools...this pic doesn't even come close to what it was really like.
Driving down the beach where we weren't supposed to...oh well.

Adventures on PowerPlay:

Stac and me chillin on the shores of Whitehaven Beach.

I'm on a Boat!! The Whitsunday Islands and Airlie Beach

Alright, so the last little bit of the best 10 days of my life ends in Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands.  We took the long ass bus ride to Airlie...the ride wasn't bad at all, just kinda listened to music and tried sleeping for most of the time.  We got to Airlie early in the morning, probably around like 8 or 9 am...it was a beautiful day, definitely appreciated after the rainy camp nights and long bus ride.  So we got our bags and checked into the travel agency where we confirmed our boating trip which was leaving at 12 that arvo (afternoon).  Seeing that we had a couple of hours to spare, we went exploring around Airlie.  Its pretty much one road that makes up the entire area...obviously very touristy, but so quaint and cute.  We got a dank breakfast (that was actually pretty cheap too) overlooking the water.  Airlie also had a sweet public pool thing like Brisbane did...they're everywhere in Australia apparently, pretty cool eh?  After Brekkie me and the girls headed off to do some shopping then went to the marina and got some last minute supplies (the very necessary goon, mmmmm).
The marina was absolutely amazing, of course.  I fell in love with this little town right away, I'm not kidding...if I end up moving to Australia (which is a good chance) I want to move to Airlie.  Anyways, so we met the crew and the rest of the passengers (18 ppl altogether, including us) and got to boating. Our boat was called the PowerPlay...it was so tight! We had a salt water hot tub at the front...like wtf, how lucky are we? We drove out for a couple hours then posted up at one of the islands and got ready for our first snorkel dive of the day.  We had to wear the AWESOME looking stinger suits again, and by AWESOME I actually mean AWESOME cause I thought they looked pretty badass.  We saw so much stuff...it was the Great Barrier Reef again, but I thought these dives were way better than the ones we did in Cairns.  Over the course of the three days on the boat we probably dove like 6 or so times, I can't really remember exactly.  All I know is that we saw like 4 sea turtles, a white reef shark and a lemon shark (yayaay), some sting rays, TONS of jellyfish, and obviously a ridiculous amount of fish and coral, including nemos!
At my favorite dive spot on the second day there were literally thousands of jellies everywhere! It wasn't bad though cause they didn't sting at all...no one knew this at first, but I just started swimming and because there were so many of them there was no way to not glide past them with hands, feet or face...and since nothing was happening I was like what the eff, they must not sting so I just started playing with them, so cool! The best part was that all of our guys were scared out of their minds and us girls didnt give a shit...they wouldnt touch the jellyfish for the longest time, we would catch them swimming with their hands out of the water...it was hilarious! Obviously they got over it when I started picking the jellies up, it was just a funny moment.
Another fav of mine was also on the 2nd day.  It was the first of the sea turtles we saw.  Me and my buddy Alex literally followed the thing forever...we went passed where we were supposed to swim, but we were obsessed with it.  Its mesmerizing watching them glide through the water. I was talking about it with Stacy and we were saying how small we felt being under water, just surrounded by all the reefs and fish...it was a crazy feeling.  Kinda like what I was talking about before with Fraser Island...being alone and away from civilization, such an amazing feeling! If theres anything I take back home with me after my 5 months in Australia, its that feeling.  Because of that, I'm definitely getting certified for diving and I'm pretty sure I realized that doing criminology was the wrong major and I should have done Marine Biology like I had planned before...oh well, I'll just get a job on a boat for the rest of my life...I would be the happiest person alive to just live on the water for days on end.
Alright, I know I know, pretty sappy...so on to other stuff! The crew on PowerPlay was awesome! I'm in love with them all! The skipper (capt), Nick, came off as really serious at first, but he was the man...me and Stac would pretty much bother him for hours on end everyday...just hanging out on the top of the boat with him while he drove, I'm pretty sure we were his favorites, but thats not surprising huh? haha JKKKKK...but yeah, he was telling us some insane stories...he was saying how one of the craziest things hes ever seen while out boating in the Whitsundays was when this dolphin was chasing after this flying fish and almost got it, but just missed it at the last minute and the flying fish took off and right when it was about to lift complete out of the water, out of nowhere another dolphin jumps out of the water and almost nabs it again, the flying fish freaks out and takes off into the air and just when it thinks its safe, out of nowhere again a massive sea eagle swoops down and grabs it...all of this happened in like a matter of 30 seconds...I thought it was a pretty cool story. Anyways, there was also the Dive Instructor dude, Duncan (from the UK and like 25 or something), who I totally had a school girl crush on...he was the funniest person ever and cool as hell, so laid back! He kinda looks like Chris Martin, weird right? But yeah, he was the crazy, cool, fun one who was really passionate about diving and the like and also did a pretty good Borat impression...amazing...and he got along with us loudass Americans, good times.  Then there was Jake who was also young and SO adorable...he was the hostess for our trip, meaning he cooked all the meals (which can go down as some of the best meals I've had since in Australia).  He was chill as hell too, totally fit in with our group...and lastly, there was this trainee, crap, I forgot her name...I wanna say Alisha or something, anyways, she was really really nice and outgoing and once again, I loved her too! After our last day on the boat, we met up with the crew peeps at a bar called Beaches which was right near our hostel...good times for sure. However, this was the first of 2 nights where I was a complete retard and lost everything I own...really though, I lost my drivers license and debit card and all my cash...sweet right? I'm thinking it somehow got thrown away or something, who knows...then the second night we all went out again and did some bar hopping...I don't think I've danced so much in my life...me and the boys were tearing up the dance floor and good ole Stac was documenting it all, no joke she probably took 60 pics of us dancing and several videos...and I'm so glad cause theyre beyond funny! Anyways, so this night I took my effed up passport with me (water damage from Fraser Island) and my Uni ID and ISIC card ID just in case they thought my passport was too ridiculous...I literally had it attached to me hand the ENTIRE night...its in every photo with me! So I have absolutely NO idea how I couldn't find it the next morning...either way, I was pretty upset for awhile, but oh well...I'm in Australia, life goes on...
Before I finish talking about Spring Break 09 what whattttt...I'll tell you about the number 1 best night.  It was on PowerPlay the first night...we anchored right off another set of islands...it was perfectly clear skies, the perfect weather...we had the best meal and me and stac were just chillin on the skippers deck looking at the stars for hours and out of nowhere 2 dolphins just show up next to our boat, and when I say next to our boat I mean we could reach down and touch them...they were hunting loads of fish by our boat...you would see them just take off through the water and do crazy spins, I've never seen anything like it and I think thats saying a lot being that I live in FL and we see dolphins pretty often...I've never experienced anything like it...they hung around our boat for literally hours, so cool! Even the crew said they'd never seen anything like that while out on the boats.  Its just crazy how pretty much everything that could have gone wrong with me did go wrong and yet it didn't come close to ruining the trip...it still ended up being the best 10 days of my life!! I wish you all could have been there with me cause there are just no words...

Fraser Island...Where There is Multiple Ways to Die.

Okie doke...took a bus to Hervey Bay where our hostel was.  We stayed the night there, had a free bbq, played some pool vball and got our drink on.  I've got plenty of drinking games to bring home and most were played just in this one night.  One of them involves using an empty goon box.  Goon is what Aussies call bagged/boxed wine.  Anyways, so you put the box on the ground and then you use your mouth to pick up the box...wherever you picked it up at with your mom you have to tear it off...you continually do this, passing it from one person to the next and as the box gets smaller you have to seriously stretch yourself down to the ground...the trickiest part of this game is that you can't use you arms, hands or shoulders in any way when balancing and bending down to pick it up...it gets ridic, but its way fun! So yeah, that was that night...didn't go to bed til like 2 or 3 am or so, dont really remember, and had to wake up at effing 6am...no good. We had to get up early because there was a meeting about Fraser Island and then we had to go pick up our 4wd and camping gear and then go food shopping for the next three days.
We got all of that done, hungover I might add, and we hopped on the ferry that would take us to Fraser. Alright, so Fraser is SO awesome! I'm obsessed with camping so it really couldn't get much better than this. They warned us not to go swimming in the ocean because there are a bajillion tiger sharks, jellyfish, sting rays, and a ridiculous rip tide (those are just some of the ways you could die). Anyways, we get a map and start off on our way through these ridiculous and muddy trails in the middle of a forest...It was crazyness! I wish I knew how to drive stick because it would have been great to try, oh well, my buddies David and Jason did an awesome job at it! So we find out that our group of 10, which consisted of me, stac, kels, david, pat, jason, alex, and then three random people: 2 brothers from Germany and a girl from the UK....well, we find out that for some reason our packet didnt have an itinerary in it like it was supposed to (so we had to follow the other groups so we knew which campsites to go to and shit).  Well when we stop off at a random place with everyone, my group decides to go exploring...well our exploration turned into like a 3 mile hike that led us to this random lake in the middle of the forest...it was gorgeous! Anyways, so we headed back to the car, but because some people kept lollygagging the other groups didnt wait for us...so we had to just try to guess which way our campsite could possibly be...took out the Fraser Island map and just started driving.  We get on the beach where all the campsites are and drove up and down, back and forth on the damn thing probably 4 times over the course of like 2 hours (which means we were driving during high tide, which you're not supposed to do) and it was dark as shit out by the time we found everyone and the campsite...had to set up our tents in the pitch black with no lights anywhere (both nights we camped actually...I guess we weren't very good at time management) OH and it was pouring rain the entire time! It kept raining throughout the night, but I didnt give a shit...me and some of the boys just hungout on the deserted beach...best feeling ever not having civilization anywhere near you...oh and we decided to play in the water cause we were getting wet anyways...good times...no worries though, didnt go deep enough to get pulled out by the rip or eaten by Tiger sharks.
So yeah, everyone was pretty much wasted and acting insane the entire night, for some reason I wasn't in the mood...neither were kels, stac, or david...so we just chilled in rain and watched everyone.  Anyways, finally went to bed and the damn waterproof tents were not fucking waterproof enough...fell asleep in a pool of water at our feet, oh and the mats/sleeping bags they gave us were complete shit...felt like concrete and they werent long enough to cover my feet and shoulders at the same time...awesome since i was freezing from the rain and wind.  So yeah, the tents were also small and smelly as shit...smelled worse than wet dog (but that didnt even bother us by the end because we all ended up smelling way worse than the tents) and me, stac and kels shared a tent...stac and i basically spooned the entire time haha it was hilarious...OH, and there were tiny sand crabs crawling through our hair the whole night, but i didnt give a shit cause i was so damn tired.
Woke up the next morning to discover that even more water had come into the tent while we were sleeping and got all over my bags which held all of my clothes and my electronics, SWEEEEEET! But not really. So I freaked out about that cause I thought for sure my ipod, camera, phone and passport were ruined forever. Got over it though because i had the whole day ahead of me...we went down the beach a few miles: saw an awesome shipwreck that had been there like a hundred yrs or something, a random dead and HUGE parrot fish washed up on the beach, the champagne pools (which are these big pools that are on the side of a rockface that faces the ocean and the waves crash over them leaving pools of bubbles...that look like champagne...and small fishies everywhere, we swam there for a little while, then we drove over to this lookout point...well this cliff was massive and we hiked up it and saw the most beautiful views!  There were these little signs that tell you how far you can go, but we totally ignored it and went all the way to the tip of the cliff...trippy feeling looking down, but amazing! And btw, during all of this we decided to not stay with the other groups...I liked it a lot better that way, it would have been way more hectic and annoying being with like 30 more people.  Anyways, so we were off on our own again to find a campsite.  We found where everyone else was, but it was a small ass campsite so we went to one right down the beach and posted up by a random group of UK, German, and Canadian people.  This night became my second favorite night of my life...it was first, but then the whitsundays happened, but thats another blog. Anyways, it was finally a clear night, no rain. We all just chilled by the beach looked up at the stars (I saw my first shooting star that night!!!!), the moon was crazy bright and at one point the glare coming off of it was a cross...I know, sounds ridiculous and maybe some of you wont care, but I was seriously blown away...I dont care how cheesy it is...we TRIED taking a million pictures of it, but our cams suck and it just didnt do it justice. Another thing that made the night even better was that we finally saw dingos (another thing that can kill you)!! Me and Kels had been waiting to see them since we've been in Australia! Well, they literally came strolling through our campsite a couple of times, one was literally like 3 feet away from me...so cool! So yeah, didn't drink again that night, it was too perfect of a camping night and we had to wake up early again to pack the SUV up and get rolling.
So I woke up at around 6 am, for no reason, and I didn't feel like going back to sleep so I left the tent and headed out to the beach...I saw a rainbow right away and the sunrise...once again, so pretty.  But then it started to sprinkle like an hour later so I went back to sleep for a bit...woke up again like an hour later, this time with stac, and walked the beach then got everybody up and moving to pack up and head off to Lake McKenzie. It ended up being the clearest, sunniest day of all of yayay! Lake McKenzie took my breath away...there are no words.  The whitest sand ever. The clearest, bluest water ever. I could have laid there all day.  While we were chilling there, we saw like 4 more dingos...they were out searching for some scraps from the tourists...theyre the cutest "mean" dogs ever...I want one now.
Finally headed back to the ferry and then the hostel where we all hauled ass to take showers (because there werent showers or toilets on Fraser the whole time, mmmmm) and get ready for the 13 hour night bus ride that lay ahead...taking us to Airlie Beach/Whitsunday Islands.  Best camping trip I've ever had, hands down.

BrisVegas Baby!!

My God, I dont even know where to begin.  This past 10 days have been the best 10 days of my life...I've never felt so blessed! So I think I'm just gonna start at the beginning of the trip.  Alright, we went to Brisbane first (its like an hour plane ride North of Newcastle). Oh and btw, when I say 'we' I mean my friends Stacy, Kelsey, David, Pat, Alex, and Jason. All of them go to Newcastle as well except for Alex, he goes to Sydney. Anywayssss, so the first night we go to Brisbane is friday the 10th which ended up being Good Friday.  Obviously we didnt think much about it because Good Friday isn't really a big deal back in the States. Well here its a national holiday...yeah...so no bars, convenience stores, or pretty much anything that sells alchy were open.  The only time you could get a beer was if you were at a restaurant and you had a meal as well.  We definitely weren't going to do that because foods expensive and we're just trying to pinch pennies.
So we go exploring instead.  Brisbane is absolutely amazing. Its weird cause I've heard mixed reviews...some people said it was boring.  Either way, we had a great time. Theres a river that runs down the center of the city, its beautiful. So we took a stroll over the bridge and hungout where the Griffith Uni is...basically, theres this huge path with trendy stores and restaurants that overlooks the entire river.  And in between the store paths and the river is a hugeeee public swimming pool that looks like a beach.  It was so cool! I became obsessed with Brisbane within like 5 minutes of being there. This little river pathway area was like Disney, I'm not even kidding...the coolest architecture, pretty flowers, so much to do (they had a ferris wheel and trampolines and a big screen to watch movies)!! So pretty much thats all we did the first night...just kinda explored...didn't feel like paying a bunch of money to start drinking at 12(thats when all the bars reopened)...so we all just goofed around.
The next day was an early morning...had to be up and ready by like 8am cause we were catching a bus to the Australian Zoo(which is the Steve Irwin zoo...started by his parents when he was young, then he took over). It was an all day event.  Saw pretty much every animal...crocs, roos, wallabys, elephants, camels, dingoes, tasmanian devils, tigers, HUGE snakes, koalas...it was craziness.  Obviously they had the stereotypical zoo animals, but those dont ever get old anyways. The Kangaroo part was probably my favorite...it was called Roo Heaven and basically you just walk into this HUGE fenced in area with hundreds of kangas just hopping around.  So we got to walk right up to them and pet and chill with them...again! So awesome! There was also a croc show.  It was this massive crocodile that they had come swim out and do 'tricks' for food...pretty sick, kinda reminded me of sea world...cant go wrong there.
After the Zoo which took literally like 7 hours, we went back to the hostel and got all cleaned up and bought some alchy.  Basically we just drank and bar hopped all around Brisbane. There was a casino 5 min walking distance away so we hit that up first...I'm pretty sure Alex won like 15 bucks haha, not too shabby...I didnt play anything...literally danced the entire time. The casino was so much fun! After that, we went to another bar down the street that had a live band...from what I do remember, they were playing some pretty sick songs so of course, stac and i danced the ENTIRE time...then we went off to another club down the street...totally hoppin! Huge dance floor, people everwhere! The best part was that the boys we were with dont mind dancing...in fact, theyre just as ridiculous and outgoing as we are...it was a blast!!
Had to wake up early, once again, the next day to pack our shit up and check out then meet a bus that was taking us to Hervey Bay...it was like a 5 hour bus ride...not bad at all! But I'll talk about Hervey Bay and Fraser Island later...I have to go to class now, laaaaame.  But yeah, Brisbane or Brisvegas as we say...was amazing and I wish I could go there again!!!!

"You see this scar?...I've killed a man."

Well well well...back again.  Went to Sydney again this past weekend with my Bestie, Stacy.  We left Thursday night and got into Sydney round 9pm to meet up with my sister and Randy who got in Wednesday morning. We didn't do much though...just got dinner with them...introduced them to Kebabs...not shishkebabs though...kebabs are like a burrito, but mexican flavors...I dont know, its delicious, especially with sweet chili sauce...I'm obsessed. So yeah, went there and then just walked around Sydney for like an hour so...took some sick as jumping pictures.  But then it started pouring and we were like a half hour walk from the hostel, so that was a blasty blast! Especially cause Sydney's sidewalks are made out of like some kind of slate or something so its heaps slippery...basically we were walking like idiots and eating shit the entire way back, pretty funny. Silvana couldn't drink cause shes on antibiotics at the moment, gay as hell, so we didn't go out...ANDDD they're lameasses and were tired at like 10.  Stac and I just went back to our hostel for the night, got some reading and shit done...it was a nice hostel...there was this common room that had crazy bean bag-like cushion things that we were OBSESSED with.

Lets see...so we woke up fairly early cause of check out and met Randy for breakfast, not Silvana cause shes slow and lazy.  Then all of us went to the harbour and went to the sweeeet aquarium!! It was awesome...thats pretty much all I've really wanted to do since I've gone to Sydney the past couple times, so I can check that off my list. The only thing that pissed me off were the bajillion kids running around everywhere...usually I like kids, but I wanted to punch these ones in the face...they were pieces of shit that kept running into people and pushing them over...I'm not kidding, it was dangerous.  Then we walked to the Opera House and the Bridge and took a shit ton of jumping pictures.  Stacy and I are going to do a jumping picture at every major landmark/cool thing we see...why not, right?

So then after that Stac and I left to meet up with this girl Emily who goes to Macquarie Uni...which is like a 20 minute train ride from the city, not bad. We stayed with she and her roommates and went into the city for some drinking and a good time. We ended meeting up with some of our best guy friends from Newcastle who were also in Sydney for the weekend.  The club we went to was pretty sick...2 floors, good music...fun fun fun! It was in an area of Sydney called Kings Cross, which I guess is kinda sketchy, but I didnt notice. So yeah, we left and once again it was POURING outside so we had to walk around in the rain, but i was wearing heels so i took those bitches off and walked in my bare feet. Most of you know that I really don't mind doing this...anyways, good ole Australian public transportation sucked as usual and the trains stopped running at like 12ish, what the eff...it was like 3 am by the time.  So we just started walking towards Town Hall to find a bus stop.  Well me and Emily walked off on our own expecting to meet everybody at the bus stop, but no one was there and we didn't know what bus to take. So we decide to check the train station real quick to see if its actually closed or not cause i figured it was pretty ridiculous that Sydney doesnt have late running trains...but apparently they don't, wtf. So on my walk down to check I get a HUGE piece of glass stuck in my foot...effing awesome!!! Well, I couldnt get it out without tweezers so I just left it. Usually not that big of a deal, but we went up to the first bus driver and asked if that was the bus to take and he was like no no, walk down a block and catch that bus...so I make the trek, but I'm walking as fast as I can, but like a complete fool because I can't step on my one foot normally because of the glass. We make it there and then bus pulls up and we him just in case and hes like uhhhh no, not this one...walk back to where you were and catch a different bus, so we're like kkkkkkk...i waddle back, wait for the damn bus and then it comes so we ask and hes like um no...and we're like WTF! So we take it anyways and figure it'll guess us somewhere closer to uni.  We get off at a random spot, pretty much in the middle of nowhere...theres no one around, I'm not happy at this point because we both randomly decided not to bring our cell phones and i still have glass in my foot.  So we finally had to catch a cab, which ended up costing like 30 bucks...pissed. I'm cheap as shit, didnt want to do that, wtf. So we finally made it back and I pulled the damn shard of glass out of my foot and hit the sack.

Wake up next day and we have to get out shit together and catch another train and bus to a different part of North Sydney called Manly.  It wasn't too complicated...Stac and I went to this mall to get some treats and such and then got picked up by this Australian family who Stacy had met during her volunteer weekend. They were awesome! 2 girls and 1 boy...all amazing and adorable...the mom and dad were so nice! They let us spend the night in their nice ass house (seriously, beautiful) AND they cooked us dinner and had peanut butter cookies waiting for us!! So yeah, the oldest girl, Jess-16, wanted us to hangout with her, no problem because she was cool as shit...so she and all her little friends took us to this house party...it was supposed to 2 16yr olds bdays and a 21yr olds bday...so we went.  Well jesus, this place was ridiculous.  There were 15, 16, 17 yr olds drunk out of their minds, by 8 pm mind you, running around everywhere! I never felt so old in my life! Well Stac and I were like eff this, we're not drinking...too weird and exhausted from the night before...so we ate crap food and candy outside the whole time.  All the while, random people would come up to us and be like heyyyyyy, you're the american girls!!! wooooooo!! It was funny...especially when all the 17 yr old boys kept hitting on us and then i'd be like uh, dude i'm 21...i dont think so brosiff. Pretty much everyone there was shocked that we were that old...I knew I looked young, but I didnt think I could pull off 16...damn. So yeah we were there for 4 hours...the girls had a curfew of 12 haha, so awesome.  I actually ended up having a really good time though, just chillin and watching what the considered house parties.  Dude, all I know is American house parties do it up right, theres no comparison.

Alright almost done with this blog, I know its long as shit...but yeah, the fam took us out to breakfast the next morning...had some dank pancakes...and then we caught the train BACK into the city to meet up with Randy and Silvana for like 2 hours...went to the place called Paddys Market and got some souvenirs...can you say gifts? You're welcome.  The walked to the harbour again for a bit and then said PEACE to Silvana and Randy and caught the train back to Newcastle. I was gonna read a book for school the whole time because I had an essay due on it the next day, but these annoying/obnoxious/drunk aussie boys sat next to us and wouldnt leave me alone so i was like FINE i'll effing talk to you damn...they didn't end up being too awful, it was just like get the effing hint I NEED TO DO THIS SHIT! Whatever, got back to Newcastle round 930pm and just did some shit that night before and just cranked out the rest today...good times. Got to get ready to go get some mexican shit so we can make tacos this week...which reminds me...the last Taco Bell in all of Australia that was in N. Sydney...CLOSED!!!! We were beyond sad...definitely eating heaps of that and Moes right when I get home.

Kkkkkkk, I'm really over writing this blog even though theres probably a million more things I could talk about...oh well, get over it and skype me instead...love and miss everyone A LOT! Laterrrrr.
